Mona Lisa Blaize

I have never been a huge fan of the Mona Lisa, probably because of its popularity and over- exposure. Now that I have experienced it through painting, I find it a perfect and beautifully designed master work. Leonardo did the hard parts for me, I just filled in a different face. Still working, but making progress.

Anvaripour update

Thanks to good-ol dad, my internet is running smoothly. I still have more to paint on this one, but I have made some progress, still getting over my cold. Can't wait to finish it. There is a little bit of a glare on the first pic, the 2nd is more true to its colors.

progress report

Day 4 and I am still far from done. Its amazing how haveing two faces in the picture frame can make the painting process so much more daunting. I am enjoying challenging myself with a more traditional approach. This painting is about 35"x 24" oil on birch. I am anxious to finish but I know, I need to take my time. I will keep the ongoing progress documented. I like to see the different stages, it makes me feel a sense of accomplishment.
